I have some spoons for sale. Although there are a dozen in the photo, one has already been removed from the mix, so eleven are available. If you’d like one, send me an email at dandkfish@gmail.com. You can pay through Paypal or by sending a check. In either case, I’ll get it boxed up and on the way to you right away. The prices include shipping, so the price you see is the total amount. All are from branch crooks except for two. All surfaces are straight from the knife. I’ll list dimensions for each spoon below and the apple will provide an additional sense of scale.
I will update the post by indicating which spoons have sold. The updates won’t show up in your email browser, but will at the blog post itself.

Although I am going to let someone else have it I really like the “FIKA” spoon. It’s probably already gone! Wonderful job on all of these Dave. Love your spoons and bowls.

The spoons are great of course, but I just wanted to say these photos are great too! 2021 spoon calendar? 🙂

Thanks, George. A spoon calendar — I guess that can be a thing, right? They have cat calendars.

The spoons are, as always, wonderful. I congratulate the fortunate recipients. Spoon calendar? Spyderco has produced a KNIFE calendar for a number of years: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/2020/2020-Wall-Calendar/1824

Hi Dave,
Amazing work as always! I like the stamped texturing on the “Take Time” spoon– a lovely contrast to the smoothness of the knife-finished surfaces. Hope you and yours are healthy and happy.

Hi Eric. Thanks. I think the stamped texture can quiet some of the “grain interference” when lettering some spoons.

Mr. Fisher,
I love your work and use your photos to learn shapes/proportions for spoon carving. If possible, could you sometime show the side view of a spoon and how you transition the various cut lines into each other? Happy holidays to you and your family.

Great to hear that. I’ll try to work on a post specifically addressing that sometime. Meanwhile, there are various photos of spoons in some of my other posts that show a variety of angles. Still, I’ll try to provide some clarity on the subject of transitions.

Hello Dave,
Remember me? When I got your email last night I was drinking a whisky from Sweden — “Svensk Ek,” which means “Swedish Oak,” from the Mackmyra distillery — so when I saw the fika spoon it felt like fate. I lived in Sweden for a couple of years and still participate in digital fikas with friends. Alas, I was too slow and the spoon was already gone.
Anyway, I have no point other than to say “hi” and to wish you a happy holiday season. I always look forward to seeing your blog posts and the inspiring photos.
Peace, Shawn Kuchta

Hi Shawn! Great to hear from you and to learn of your experience with fika and Svensk Ek. Been awhile since we were together in Plymouth carving bowls. Skål!

In case you haven’t seen this. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2gfPaAhvSpo&feature=youtu.be
He makes it look so easy. As experience and a guided imagination usually do.
Hope all is well in PA.
I keep finding (and being shown) things that keep me from the blades. Any time with them is good though.
What he says about being able to sit by yourself in a small space and do things that bring contentment is real, as you well know. Reminds me of when Fred and I were sitting on stumps just outside the building and working there in Tampa.

Thanks for the link, Jed. That is indeed an incredible film. I have the CD from when it first came out, but hadn’t watched it in a while. I’m glad to see that North House has shared it on Youtube now for many more to see and be inspired. It was wonderful to watch it again. Wille’s influence is hard to measure, and Jögge has continued in that mission.
Thanks for the reminder of the special times there in Tampa. You, Fred, and the rest of us shared many contented moments. Hope to do it again.
