Hand Tool Haven — Tomorrow!

It stopped raining long enough yesterday for me to hack away at a cherry log in preparation for my demonstration/presentation at the Hand Tool Haven event. Early tomorrow morning, I’ll drive the mere 50 miles to Butler, PA with some tree chunks, a few tools, a bowl horse, and some other odds and ends. According to the schedule, at 1:00 tomorrow, I’ll demonstrate greenwood bowl carving for an hour or so. There’s still time to sharpen my adze and drawknife.

Beyond that, I suppose I’ll be at my assigned home-base spot where I’ll continue to carve, sharpen, or do impromptu demonstrations Saturday and Sunday. I’ll have a few examples of my work there and I’ll look forward to talking with folks. I’m also looking forward to meeting and learning from the other presenters and the impressive list of tool vendors.

The Hand Tool Haven gathering raises funds for Plane Wellness and their mission to improve mental wellness through woodworking.

So much the better if there are birds around while you work. Here are a couple birds outside my workshop this week.
